I am sharing with you my 5 biggest lessons of the past year. I want to inspire you to reflect on your own lessons and achievements over a period of time. That can be a month, a year or even 10 years. Reflecting on something and writing it down can help you to process learning and even create new insights and realizations. You can find gold when you take some time for reflection.
If we like it or not. We are the creators of our life. And that includes all the good and the bad. And once you are willing to accept and surrender to this, please don’t judge yourself.
It’s like waking up from a dream and just when you woke up you realize that it was all just a dream. The same applies to this. We just don’t know when we don’t know.
And once we wake up and realize and accept that we are creating EVERYTHING in our life, let’s look forward. Don’t look back and criticise yourself for everything you created by not knowing that you created it. Makes sense?
In the beginning, it’s all about just realizing. And that’s going to go on for quite a while. I am still in the middle of it. Every week I have one big realization that I created something through my beliefs, limiting thoughts, emotional addictions, etc.
And when I realize that I am the creator of this situation, I ask myself: Do I still want this in my life? What do I have to learn from this (before I can let it go)? Why does this show up in my life now?
It is a big tidy-up in your inner world. And with every piece you let go of, you make room for much better thoughts, feelings and experiences.
I have learned that our bodies can be addicted to emotions. And if the body is addicted to good emotions, great, fantastic. But what if the body is addicted to feelings like guilt or shame or frustration or anger or aggression or hopelessness?
This is when we are in trouble!
Because if we want to change and the body is addicted, it will do everything to get back that emotion, to feel it again and again.
So we have to not just think positively, and work with our mind and our thoughts, but we have to work with our body and with the feelings inside of that body.
The body doesn’t know the difference between good feelings and bad feelings. It’s all the same for the body. It just gets used to feeling a certain way over time, and now it just wants to keep feeling it.
Doesn’t really matter to the body if it’s good for us or if it’s bad for us.
We have never learned how to manage our emotions. But it’s essential if we want to change!
We wanna manage our emotions. We want to make sure that we don’t keep falling into the same emotional patterns that make us feel not as great as we want to.
The third lesson of the last year has been about freedom and energy. It’s about letting go of a lot of stuff and creating space for new things and for more energy in your life. And what I have learned is that if you are letting go of your old beliefs, your old emotions, and old memories that are stuck inside of you YOU FREE YOURSELF.
I’ve begun how to free myself every single day. It’s like the first half of your life to fill yourself up by creating memories, and beliefs, you form perspectives. And then in your second half of the year, it’s all about organizing it and giving it some structure and deciding if something has to go or you want to replace it.
It’s like organizing your home. That’s how it feels like.
And until recently I was just not aware of this and now I’m doing all of this tidying up. And it frees up so much energy.
Every time I let something go and work through it, I release so much more energy. I feel so much calmer and happier in my life when I let go of something.
So number four of my lessons is all about becoming a new version of yourself. So if this is something that you’re interested in, I can tell you it’s everyday work. Consistency is the main topic. It’s not so much about the big wins because they come naturally through consistency. But where the work happens is really on an everyday basis.
The small wins. The small changes.
The work for becoming a new self happens in the everyday life of you catching yourself.
If you’re not aware of something, you can’t change it. So you really want to become a really good investigator in your life and keep observing yourself. These are all small wins, small victories that will add up to a huge change, one, two, or even five years down the line.
My everyday work consists of self-care, self-love and self-development practices every day. For example, meditating every day, journaling on a regular basis, yoga, breathing and self-regulation. It’s all about consistency and not giving up.
The fifth and big lesson of the last year is all about self-love. I have worked a lot over the last year on loving myself more. Myself in general, and of course especially my body. And I’m really proud of where I am now, and at the same time, I still have a long way to go and that’s okay.
I have improved my mindset so much about myself and my body that I’m feeling so, so much better. I really understood for the first time what it means to prioritize yourself. You have to feel well first before you are truly able to help and serve others.
You have to just make yourself priority number one, and that’s the most important part, and that has nothing to do with selfishness.
It’s all about making sure that you are feeling good, and that you take care of yourself so you can be fully you.
And that is the magic, that is the divinity, and that is your gift to the world. When you truly feel happy with yourself, being with yourself, when you create the most beautiful stories and energy and the most beautiful life.
That was the greatest gift that I received in the last year of truly making a quantum step in the right direction of loving myself and loving my body.
I hope you enjoyed my 5 biggest lessons of the last year. And I hope I inspired you to look at your lessons of the past 12 months.
