You might not even be aware that you are living most of your life from fear instead of living it from love. I am sure that this thought might have never crossed your mind. Well, that changes today. And the reason for that is, that living from fear is not the way towards peace, freedom, joy, bliss and love. If we want to have more of any of those feelings and experiences that create these emotions, then we need to wake up and see how we ACTUALLY live our lives.
Living from fear has become the standard way of living in our society. It has become so pandemic that it constitutes the predominant ruling emotion of our world. But we are not making ourselves conscious of this situation. We just accept and live in this world of fear. Why? Well because everybody is doing it. What else is there? And that is the problem. We don’t know a different way of living and most humans never ask themselves how that could look like. What does it mean to live life from love instead of from fear?
Fear is associated with our survival and therefore it has a high ranking in our mind and bodily systems. For most humans, fear is so all-pervasive that their life energy is predominantly focused on managing all of these layers of fear. Habits, attitudes, and perspectives are formed around the different kinds of fears that we experience throughout the length of our lives. Whether we are trying to defend them or trying to get rid of them, we are never finding the right tool that makes us feel content, calm, and peaceful.
That’s what I want to change with you today. I want to provide you with a tool that allows you to live your life from love and overcome the habits of fear in your life – especially the ones that you are not even aware of. And I am warning you now. There is going to be a lot of those. You will see!
The thing is, if you don’t decide to wake up and see HOW you are living your life, from fear and not form love, then you will keep doing what you are doing which is being led by society, the media, social media and everyone around you who is living their lives in the same bubble of fear as you do.
The problem is that the frequency and vibration of fear are quite low and not anywhere close to the frequency of love, peace, joy or harmony. Wondering then why you don’t have more of the high-vibrating feelings in your life, becomes obsolete when you realize that all your behaviours, actions, attitudes, world views and perceptions are based on fear. This is physics and the law of attraction. You cannot have and attract love, peace and joy in your life if you spend 100% of your waking hours living from the frequency of fear. I hope this is clear to you.
So let me give you examples of how fear is ruling our lives. I will share with you typical areas in our lives and we look at thoughts we might have and then look at what the thought would look like if they would come from love.
The act of going to work, performing your job and taking action in your area of responsibility can easily and for most of us secretly be guided by fear.
Getting up in the morning, you might think:
“Oh no, I have to go to work today.”
“I am already dreading that one conversation. I’m scared of how it’s going to go.”
“Who knows how many emails I received again overnight? I will never get it all done before the deadline.”
“I better get up now, otherwise I am AFRAID I am going to be late.”
These are typical thoughts we have literally when we wake up, then we keep going while we are in the shower, making coffee and on the way to work. Constantly living in fear of not getting our work done, having to have a conflict conversation, failing to be a good performing employee, failing at pleasing everybody, failing to be perfect.
So many actions we take and decisions we make straight out of fear instead of love. So what would the thoughts look like if we lived from love?
“I get to go to work today. I love how my job allows me to have all of these experiences meet all of these amazing people and allows me to support my family and the lifestyle that I created for myself.”
“I love and respect this person, even if we are going to have a tough conversation today. I know we both will feel better for having cleared the air.”
“I love how I get challenged every day to learn and grow. If I wouldn’t, I would stand still and be bored.”
“I am so grateful that I get trusted with a great level of responsibility even if it feels challenging at times. That’s how I know that there is more inside of me to discover.”
I know this might all sound now pretty over-exaggerated to you. But be honest with yourself, what is the alternative? Be guided by fear throughout your day and only take action out of fear of not being liked, being rejected or being called a failure. Is that the driving force you want to live your life by? It’s your choice. Ok, let’s have a look at another example.
All the interaction, the giving and taking in any relationship and the perception of how we see the relationship or friendship can be based on fear. Here are some typical thoughts you might have:
“Oh no, I haven’t called back. She will be pissed that I waited so long to get back to her. I better call her now even though I don’t have time.”
“I don’t really want to go to this event but I better say yes so I don’t disappoint him.”
“I better let her win this argument and be right – otherwise she might leave me.”
“All of his complaining, judging and talking behind people’s backs does not sit well with me, but what can I do? Lose my best friend?”
Do you see the underlying fear of rejection, disapproval, loss, being alone? All of these thoughts are coming from fear. Nothing of this has to do with love. Isn’t that sad? And please don’t be discouraged if you start thinking about some of the thoughts that you are having about your partner, your spouse or your best friend. Don’t judge yourself or fall into the trap of the next fear resulting from this realization. These are automated programs that we took on from others, from society and these are being kept alive by the media, governments, moral belief systems or organizations that want us to buy their products out of fear.
How would the same thoughts sound if they came from love? What would love, source, the universe, God say in these situations?
“Let me take a few minutes to call my friend back, so she knows I am thinking about her.”
“I’ll explain to my other half why I don’t want to go to this event and I know he will understand.”
“If we were meant for each other, I am sure we will find a common ground without giving up our values and self-worth.”
“To protect my energy and peace, I step away from this friendship. I make space for a new friendship to come into my life that fulfils me and that I enjoy.”
These are just examples of how you could think if you are coming from a place of love, compassion and self-worth. Do you see how these thoughts are more loving and caring but how it puts up as well boundaries for yourself? But that is love, too, the love that you want to give yourself. That’s even more important than the love you are giving to others especially if the love is forced through the lens of fear.
Let’s have a look at one more example.
Wouldn’t you agree that the fear of money is one of the biggest fears we have? Other than the fear of dying. But that is the fear that is behind all fears. In the end, it’s all about survival. And in our society, survival means having money.
In previous episodes about money, I talked about money beliefs that are standing in our way to have a good relationship with money. And lots of these limiting beliefs are well known, like “Money does not grow on trees”, “You have to work hard to earn money” or “Money is the root of all evil”. Any of these beliefs that we have been told growing up can hold us back from attracting or keeping money in our lives.
But today, we look even closer at common thoughts we have around money that are coming from fear. Here are my examples for you:
“If I lend him the money, who knows if I ever get it back.”
“I don’t want to share the bill equally, my meal was way cheaper. That’s unfair.”
“I can’t give this away. I paid good money for it. Who knows one day I might need it again.”
“This is an expensive buffet. I better eat as much as possible to get my money’s worth. Maybe I can put something in my bag for later.”
“I could never pay for someone to clean my house or fix my garden. Yes, I just bought a new mobile phone for 1000 $ but that’s something different. It’s not like I’m rich.”
You might think now that all of these thoughts are common sense and they have nothing to do with being afraid. But all of them have the underlying fear of not having enough money. And don’t get me wrong, a lot of people don’t have enough money. But are you truly one of them? Do you struggle to feed yourself and have a roof over your head?
That’s the issue with these thoughts. They are not aligned with a person who has enough money. And if you have enough money to pay your bills, feed yourself and support your family, why should you think about money from a mindset of scarcity and fear? Why can it not be from a mindset of gratitude and love?
So let’s listen to what these thoughts would sound like when they come from gratitude and love:
“I am happy to lend him the money as I have more than enough. If I never get it back so what?!?”
“I don’t mind sharing the bill equally. It’s about the wonderful time we spend together.”
“I’d rather let someone else have it who needs it. I can always buy it again or borrow it if I ever need to.”
“I’m grateful for this unique experience at this buffet. I will appreciate everything I get to try and eat.”
“My time is precious to me. I’m happy to pay someone to take away tasks from me that I don’t enjoy so I can spend my time more enjoyably. And I am grateful to be able to support someone else.”
Now that we looked at 3 examples in great depth, I hope you start to understand the difference between living life from fear or love. Sometimes it’s not even about changing your actions. Just another way of thinking about makes all the difference in your frequency while taking the action.
In other situations, you might want to change your action based on the new perspective of love on the situation. Looking at it from love instead of fear might give you the energy to choose differently this time and will for sure change the trajectory of your life. Every step counts.
Now, what are you going to do with this new knowledge, this perspective shift, this realization? It’s up to you to decide if you keep living your life from fear like most people or if you start to reprogram yourself and practice living from love.
All it needs is your awareness throughout your day. Every time you become aware of your thoughts or an action you are about to take, reflect and go within:
In the beginning, they are more likely to come from some kind of fear. And once you realize, you can shift it to love. Take the awareness, energy and time to create a new thought or a new reason for your action. Like with everything else in the world, it needs your intention and attention for you to deprogram yourself from fear and reprogram yourself to love.
The result will be that you not only have more positive thoughts and take actions that are aligned with love and your heart, but you are raising your energy, your frequency, your vibration and you will see that it will make you feel so much better. Your natural state of being will be elevated to a new level of emotions that become your new standard way of living.
And I promise you, it’s magical. Whenever you hit a new level of peace, surrender and love you ask yourself: How can there be even more? I thought I was already feeling good. And then I got to another level of feeling “good”. This journey is pure magic and bliss. You will see.
I hope I inspired you to make a new decision and to create awareness in your life that gives you the possibility to choose differently. Change means not making the same choice as you did the day before. Make the choice from love and not from fear.
