In this episode of Raise Your Energy Podcast, Linda Lange, an Energy Expert, shares another travel insight with you. And it is how to enjoy your day like your holiday.
I have always been interested in growth and self-development. Travelling alone is for me like self-development on speed! If you are alone with yourself, on one side you get to know yourself better and on the other side get faced with some truth about yourself that you did not look at before.
Actually, one of my friends took her first solo trip for 3 days and left her husband and kids at home. And she loved it. She enjoyed the freedom to do what she wanted to do and just take care of herself and do the things she truly wanted to do. She did say to me the other day that this isn’t going to be her last solo trip as she now sees the immense benefit from it.
So again, I can just advise it. If you have this question inside of you if you should try it yourself, do it. Because if you are already thinking about it – you are ready, and you will benefit from it (Episode 2).
I realised that you can change your life, and you don’t have to change all about it, but you can choose a different way of living.
And maybe even choose a way of living that you have not come across before. And maybe it’s not much even out there. But I realized that I have to follow my heart, purpose, and soul; instead of living the life that society expects me to live.
And I have really been trying since then to do it and live my life more in alignment with my heart and soul and what is bringing me joy and happiness and fulfilment. So that’s what I’ve been doing since my first travel in the winter (Episode 27). And I’m really grateful for having the opportunity.
This time I realised that I don’t feel the same kind of freedom when I am at home but that I really want to. I want to enjoy my day spent at home and in my house the same way I enjoy being on holiday. On an amazing meditation retreat or visiting the Grand Canyon. I know it is possible and that it is a matter of mindset and perspective. This is something that I am now focusing on.
We always want to look forward to something, but there is a balance, right?
There is a balance between, is it a healthy kind of balanced way of looking forward to your next holiday? Or is it really that you’re just living for your next holiday. And you’re not living in your everyday life anymore.
You know that we live in the 3D world, which is the world and the dimension of duality.
We have the plus and the minus. We have the darkness of the night, and we have the light of the day. It always has to be both to have coherence in our life.
And that means as well, not hyping up your everyday life. That is not what you need to do. You want to go more inside of yourself and try to find the joy, freedom, and happiness in the things that you usually do back at home.
And you do that by creating awareness.
I always talk a lot about being aware and creating more awareness of your thoughts, feelings, habits, and actions, the things around you that give you energy or that deplete you of energy.
That is the key. If you’re not aware of what is happening in your life, you’re not able to make a change.
So you want to become more aware of your everyday life, during the tasks you do, the minutes that you have where you don’t do something, the things that you do that bring you joy or the things that you do that don’t bring you joy.
Don’t judge these things, but just wake up in these moments and step more into the present moment.
I’m just going to share five things that remind me to enjoy the moment and create some love, happiness, and joy in my heart.
Walking with Mykey in nature
I take this opportunity to be in the present moment and enjoy nature. I get a lot of energy from it.
Tidying up the house
Now, I’m enjoying the process of tidying up as much as the result of it. And I become fully present with it because I’m doing something for myself.
Preparing a meal and eating it
I used to rush preparing the meal or be distracted while doing it. Now I try to be more Zen about it and be conscious of the cooking process.
Doing something new like a dance class or going to a museum
That helps me get creative and new ideas.
Breathing
It’s always with us and very powerful. So, I like to be aware of my breath a couple of times per day.
You don’t have to go for three weeks as I do it. Just do something smaller like a day or weekend.
You can do it even smaller. Go alone to the cinema or go alone in the evening to a sauna for a couple of hours or go alone and have dinner.
That is kind of the first step. So maybe try that one out. And just be with yourself and not be fully distracted, like shopping and doing things. Instead, have a chance where you are a few hours to be silent with yourself and for your inner voice, heart, and soul to actually come up and give you some messages and some insights.
So, as I said, you don’t have to do three weeks. You don’t even have to do three days. You can do three hours. How about that?
